  • How do I open an account?

  • Clients may open an account through our online account application or download the appropriate forms.

  • What type of account can I open?

  • The most traditional accounts are individual or joint accounts. However, clients can open corporate, LLC, Trust, Partnerships, or retirement accounts.

  • What is the minimum account balance required to start an account?

  • Minimum starting account balance is $500. Yes, $500!

  • How do I deposit funds?

  • Bank wire or Existing Brokerage Account Transfer.

  • How do I withdraw funds?

  • You may withdraw funds by completing our online withdrawal request form. We can send money via check (only to the name on the account and to the address on file) or via bank wire.

  • How do I receive statements and other account information?

  • You receive a username and password to access your account information online. This will allow you to view current and past statements. Statements are only generated when there is activity in the account. If you do not trade, you will not receive a statement that day. You may also request hard copies of your statements for a small monthly fee.

  • How do I read my account statement?

  • Please contact your broker for assistance with reading your statement.

  • Can I transfer an account from another firm?

  • You can also ask your AMP representative for an Account Transfer Form. When completed, please fax the form to 312-893-7660 for processing.

  • Can I transfer or open an IRA or retirement account?

  • While we urge clients to use caution when using retirement funds for high-risk investments like futures, IRA and retirement accounts are acceptable account types. These accounts need to be opened with a custodian that allows for alternative investments detailed information.

  • What are your normal business hours?

  • Office opens Sunday 5pm CST and is 24 hours/day until Friday at 5pm CST.

  • Is someone available in an emergency 24 hours a day?

  • Yes, there is always someone available 24 hours/day at our emergency Order Desk.

  • Who is my AMP representative?

  • Your AMP representative should have been introduced to you when you first contacted us. However, if you are unsure, please just email or call us toll-free at 1-877-535-7770 and we will make the introduction today.

  • Does AMP provide investment advice?

  • AMP employees are here to help in any way possible, except that we do not offer investment advice. We do work with many quality educators, industry professionals, and CTAs that are happy to help you with defining your trading methodology or investment choices.

  • What is the difference between intraday and overnight margin?

  • In the futures market, clients receive a more favorable margin requirement for trades that are not held overnight, called intraday margin. This is typically set at $500/contract, although we do not recommend using full leverage. Overnight margin is the required amount in your account per contract to hold positions overnight, (defined as holding a position when the market closes). This overnight margin requirement is set by the exchange and does fluctuate. You can view recent margin requirements here.

  • What exchanges can I trade?

  • AMP is proud to offer CME, CBOT, Nymex, Nybot, Eurex, and many others through our clearing relationships. Please contact us if you would like to trade additional markets on exchanges not listed above.
